MILAN, EF HOUSE

While decorative elements like the stucco ceiling details and herringbone parquet floors in the EF house lend a classic feel, they have been reinterpreted with a contemporary twist. The cornices design large diamond patterns on the ceilings and the square profiles cast sharp geometric shadows. The dark brown parquet flooring, found in both the living and sleeping spaces, stands in strikingly elegant contrast to the white walls. The apartment opens onto a hallway that leads to an oval vestibule, the crossroads leading to the living areas.

Indisputable showstopper in the living room is the Groundpiece sofa, designed by architect Antonio Citterio.

The apartment’s overall atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated, yet retains the warmth of a family home.
