USA, PRIVATE HOME IN THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS
When architecture listens to the voice of the ‘genius loci’ (the spirit of the place), great things happen: such is the case of this extraordinary building by Faulkner Architects.
The home blends seamlessly with the mountainous Sierra Nevada landscape. The building is a skillful construction of interlocking shapes that follow the lay of the land.
Inside the home, the interior design establishes a minimalist but finely crafted decor that exudes a warm, cozy atmosphere.
Two sofas, ottomans and a cowhide-clad coffee table from the Groundpiece seating system, designed by Antonio Citterio, furnish the area in front of the concrete and stone fireplace while an Evergreen sofa, also designed by Antonio Citterio, was selected to complete the furnishings of the upper floor.
