China, luxury building in Shaoxing

Upscale residential complex at the crossroads of Asian culture and Italian design.

The prestigious new One Residences residential project opens in Shaoxing, a city with a history rich in tradition where nature, architecture and culture combine to create a unified aesthetic and conceptual identity. Embodying an innovative vision, the building opens a fresh chapter in the city’s development and sets new standards in urban growth.

The interior design of the building’s common areas was curated by NI-T Design Studio, in collaboration with Ambelie Gallery, with the objective of creating spaces that harmoniously combine Asian tradition and artisanal sensibility. Local character is exemplified through the principles of contemporary design, shaping spaces endowed with understated luxury and timeless elegance.

Framed by two imposing black travertine pillars and large floor-to-ceiling windows, the elegant lobby is furnished with Flexform products. Upholstered in light-colored fabric, the Groundpiece sectional sofa is positioned facing a Tessa armchair with seat and backrest in woven paper rush cord and structure in dark wood.

A second Groundpiece sofa furnishes the lounge area, along with two Alison armchairs with backrest in tobacco-color cowhide. The decor is completed with Asian-inspired elements, such as the two lamps and the characteristic footstool.

The harmonious blend of different cultures is also found in the study/office area, where traditional Chinese rugs are paired with contemporary furniture, such as the Tessa armchair, where texture and handcrafting skill are the true protagonists. The same contrast between minimalist design and Asian-inspired decor sets the tone in the distinctive tearoom. Here, the sophisticated A.B.C.D. armchair, upholstered in light-colored fabric, embodies a timeless elegance that goes beyond the immediate setting, bringing harmony and grace to the space.
