Italy, private home overlooking Lake Maggiore
Lakefront villa combines architectural savoir-faire and attentiveness to the landscape.
Overlooking Lake Maggiore, this sleek residential project is composed of two buildings distinguished by textured surfaces and a unique open-plan configuration. The main structure, arranged on two levels, opens onto the lakeside landscape. The second building, positioned at the water’s edge, is the renovation of a small boathouse. Luserna-stone retaining walls, typical of the area, along with trees and shrubbery join the two structures in a composition where the architecture and lakeside surroundings achieve perfect balance.
Located on the ground floor of the main building, the living space, which includes the kitchen, is clad in floor-to-ceiling natural wood paneling. Luserna-stone flooring extends out into the garden, creating continuity between the home’s interior and the outdoor landscape. Highlight of the living room is an elegant Flexform sofa with details in tobacco-color cowhide, paired with Vienna and Fly side tables.
The bedroom and home office occupy the upper floor in a single adjoining space that opens onto a large terrace furnished with Tessa Outdoor armchairs and a Zefiro Outdoor side table.
Sliding walls separate the bath and walk-in closet from the bedroom where an impressive Gregory bed with tobacco-color cowhide webbing divides the space. At its back, the Groundpiece container provides an elegant storage solution. A comfortable Guscio armchair rounds out the decor.
