Piranesi Roma Basilico
Flexform supports the efforts of the Gabriele Basilico Archive to conserve and promote the work of Basilico, a photographer with whom the company enjoyed a prolific creative relationship from the 1980s to 2008.
The company recently contributed to the publication of the illustrated book: “Piranesi Roma Basilico” (by Contrasto in partnership with the Cini Foundation), that juxtaposes well-known views of Italy’s capital as seen through the eyes of Giambattista Piranesi and Gabriele Basilico.
The collection of images offers a unique perspective through which the work of Piranesi – gifted and multi-faceted architect, artist, engraver, antiquarian and eminent interpreter of 18th century culture – is recaptured through the insightful images of Gabriele Basilico, architect and photographer of our times.
