Enn Table: Gentle Lines

The Enn table by Fumie Shibata and the dialog between Italy and Japan

In Japanese culture, as in Italian, beauty is not only found in form, but also in the space surrounding it: in silence, simplicity and the unspoken. To express this concept, in Japan we use the word MA: the presence of emptiness, a pause that gives space to meaning.

The Enn table grew out of this shared sensibility. Designed for Flexform, it combines skilled Italian craftsmanship with the sense of balance and restraint typical of Japan.

The leather base pays tribute to Flexform’s cultural heritage, while its structural simplicity highlights every detail. For me, design begins with an intuition, often shaped by nature and everyday life.

“With Enn, I wanted to create something more than a simple table: a safe harbor that encourages the interaction between form and feeling, tradition and innovation, Japan and Italy.”
