Japan, Tokyo Art Week 2023

The “Portraying Design, celebrating tradition & innovation” photo exhibit that made its debut at the Flexform Milano flagship store during Milano Design Week last April has now landed at the Flexform Tokyo space.

Inaugurated with a cocktail party on October 20th attended by many guests, the exhibit continued until November 5th. At the same time, in celebration of the brand’s heritage, the Flexform Tokyo store also took part in Tokyo Art Week, followed by Tokyo Design Week, with an original installation where a selection of designer ad campaigns formed the backdrop for the products they featured.

Reproductions of advertising images – designed by master photographers like Gabriele Basilico, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Maria Vittoria Backhaus and Pierpaolo Ferrari – traced a timeline from the 1980s to the present. Displayed on large backlit panels, the images offer an immersive brand experience in which the product and its portrayal create an extraordinary visual landscape that has contributed significantly to building the brand’s identity and its distinctive personality.

A great number of guests attended the opening event held the evening of October 20th.
